What started as something to take our mind off the pandemic, grew into something more. Our choices in movies shifted to focus on important conversations. For Pride Month, we partnered with Havas Proud to show PARIS IS BURNING and discuss LGBTQA+ issues. To show our support for Black Lives Matter, we discussed several movies including If Beale Street Could Talk, Just Mercy, To Kill A Mockingbird, all leading up to partnership with the 4A’s and MAIP Alumni to have more formal discussion on how film can educate, in addition to entertain. For that, we took on the documentary TRUE JUSTICE: BRYAN STEVENSON’S FIGHT FOR EQUALITY.
